Robert Bliss, Director of Communication, Department of RevenueDelays by software vendors in finalizing Massachusetts corporate tax forms have caused problems for corporate tax filers, but the situation seems to have eased.
The Department of Revenue has been working with these software vendors since last September to approve their software products. DOR has provided all the vendors with the information they need to submit their products to us for approval.
Once we have received a vendor's completed software product, it takes only a week for DOR to test and approve. And as we approve vendors, their names are added to a list maintained on our website.
In some cases, vendors have blamed DOR for the delay. That is incorrect.
As of today, all but two vendors have been approved. The delay seems to have been caused by vendors not providing us with their programs on a timely basis for testing.
